The whole world now knows that the god-man Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan has been sentenced today to twenty years in jail and fined Rs. 3,000,000 for the rape of two women in 2002.
Ram Rahim is a Hindu baba, a “god man” who used the name of God to seduce and rape women.
Fr. Joby Kachappilly is a priest of the Indian Vincentian Congregation (VC) who has done the same.
Ram Rahim was the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect and had several ashrams worldwide.
Fr. Joby Kachappilly was the Director of Divine Retreat Ashram, Faridabad (and later, Toronto).
Ram Rahim raped two of his female disciples (sadhvis).
Two former associates who worked with him have formally accused Fr. Joby Kachappilly of rape.
(In both cases there have been more victims who will not come forward to lodge complaints.)
Ram Rahim drew a huge fan following by his on-stage public performances.
Fr. Joby Kachappilly‘s Malayalam songs on stage, musical albums and You-tube videos are popular.
Ram Rahim’s molestation and rape was euphemistically called “pitaji’s maafi” (father’s pardon).
Fr. Joby Kachappilly described his sexual advances to his victims as “pure divine love”, etc.
Ram Rahim would invite women into his “gufa” or underground chamber and rape them.
Fr. Joby Kachappilly would take girls into the sacred Blessed Sacrament chapel and molest them.
Ram Rahim’s victims range from girls less than half his age to women in their 40s.

Ram Rahim’s supporters made an attempt to help him to flee into hiding after his sentencing.
The confreres of Fr. Joby Kachappilly have sent him to hiding in Rome, Italy.
Skeletons (literally & metaphorically) were unearthed in Ram Rahim’s ashram only after his arrest.
Will the arrest of Fr. Joby Kachappilly also unearth skeletons from his closet?
Ram Rahim’s assets were seized and bank accounts frozen to compensate his victims and others.

After the charge sheet is filed, under Section 309 (i) of the Indian Penal Code, the trial of the rape accused has to be completed in 60 days.
It is almost six months since we lodged our first complaints with his Superiors and the authorities of the Catholic Church.
