I know Fr. Franklin D’Souza from the time that he was in St. Peter’s Seminary, Bangalore till 2005. At that time, he was isolated by his confreres in the very seminary where he was on the staff. He put it down to their lack of openness to his charismatic ministry.
I visited him a couple of times and had lunch with him, and was gifted some very Protestant CDs of “miracle healings”. I still have them.
Soon recognition of his “charismatic” preaching in association with T.K. George came his way. You know the rest from the news stories above. But popularity and elevation apparently changed him greatly. His email responses to me became one-liners and auto-responses with scripture verses. He was also non-committal on the various problems in the Indian Church that I brought to his notice.
But the greatest shock to me came when Fr. Franklin D’Souza wrote me a very curt, unfriendly refusal email against my request in March 2019 for a Letter of Recommendation from him against my forthcoming 800-page book on New Age Medications and Meditations.
I had made the same request to around 20 priests. His was the only refusal. That will be the subject of a separate report from me.
Apparently, Fr. D’Souza did not want to be publicly associated with this ministry.
While basking in the limelight, Fr. D’Souza preached eloquently, but not in the least prophetically.
Beholden to his Archbishop, Bernard Moras, he never spoke against the institutionalized New Age that ravages the Archdiocese. That is the common denominator for every charismatic ministry that I know off.
The other major problem with most charismatic preachers (barring a few lay persons) is their blindness to the Hinduisation of the Indian Church. Thus we see Fr. D’Souza lighting the Hindu oil lamp at several functions – and these are only the pictures that we located…
One more problem with charismatic priests is the liturgical aberrations that accompany their Masses. See FR JOSE VETTIYANKAL-WRONG TEACHINGS AND DUBIOUS PROPHECIES

We will post a separate report with pictures of Fr. D’Souza’s Masses.
