Missionary school father arrested for trying to molest a class VIII boy
Bhopal, July 11, 2017
The 50-year-old hostel manager of a missionary school has been arrested for allegedly trying to molest a class VIII boy in Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh.
The hostel manager of Amar Jyoti High Secondary school identified as Fr Leo D’Souza was arrested by Amarpur police on Monday late night, said Simala Prasad, the superintendent of police (SP) in Dindori district on Tuesday.
According to the SP Prasad, the 13-year-old boy who had enrolled in the school and the hostel a fortnight ago, informed his family recently about Fr Leo D’Souza trying to sexually harass him.
The boy’s family subsequently lodged a complaint with Amarpur police outpost on Monday alleging that D’Souza had called the boy in his room and tried to molest him.
“We subsequently began probing the matter and recorded statements of other students studying and residing at the school’s hostel. Other students also told the police that the accused had tried objectionable acts with them in the past,” said Prasad.
The accused was booked under Section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and Section 342 of IPC (punishment for wrongful confinement), the Dindori SP added.
The accused was arrested on Monday late night and was produced before a court in Dindori which remanded him to judicial custody till July 20.

According to the complaint, the accused had taken the eighth grade student to his room and attempted to sexually assault him the previous evening.
The boy informed his parents who in turn lodged a complaint with the Amarpur police station on the next day.
The priest, apparently sensing danger, left to Jabalpur.

While the Cardinal denies having any knowledge of sodomy having raised its head in his archdiocese and in his seminary, today’s news only confirms that Indian priests are not satisfied with raping young girls (as recorded in the files 01-08 below) but are now more frequently in the news for sodomy/attempted sodomy.
(I recently met with the rector of a major seminary who told me that apart from a small handful of boys who would make good priests, the great majority of them indulged in pornography, masturbation, consuming alcohol… and homosexuality, but there is nothing much that can be done about the situation and, year after year, such men are being ordained and sent out to serve as our priests.
