Kurienkardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, Vorsitzender des Päpstlichen Rates für die Kultur nahm im argentinischen San Marcos Sierras aktiv an einem Pachamama-Kult teil. Die Göttin Pachamama bedeutet in der Quechua-Sprache soviel wie “Mutter Erde” oder “Mutter Kosmos”. Sie ist ein Relikt aus vorchristlicher, heidnischer Zeit, das sich in Teilen der Quechua- und Aymara-Indios der Andenstaaten erhalten hat.
Der Göttin Pachamama, die in der Indio-Vorstellung “allmächtig” ist, werden Opfer dargebracht, vor allem “Cocablätter”, “Talismane, Heilkräuter, Lamaföten”, “kleine Püppchen” wie die Neue Zürcher Zeitung schrieb. “Auf dem Hexenmarkt von La Paz” in Bolivien werden “die Zutaten für das Brandopfer zu Ehren der Pachamama” gemixt und “der Glaube zum Geschäft”, so die NZZ.
Der animistische Kult wird auch in einem Ort der zentralargentinischen Provinz Cordoba betrieben. Dort liegt San Marcos Sierras mit seinen knapp 950 Einwohnern (2010), rund 150 Kilometer von der Stadt Cordoba entfernt, in die Papst Franziskus in den 80er Jahren von seinen Provinzoberen exiliert worden war. San Marcos Sierras gilt als letzter Ort, der hauptsächlich von dem nur mehr 5.000 Menschen zählenden Indio-Volk der Comechingones (Henia und Kamiare) bewohnt wird.

“Vorhof der Völker” mit Götzenkult
Die Pachamama-Kulthandlung fand bereits im November 2014 im Rahmen von Ravasis Initiative “Vorhof der Völker” statt, die damals in Argentinien Station machte, wurde aber erst jetzt durch die Veröffentlichung eines Videos bekannt. Organisiert wurde der Götzendienst vom Foro Ecumenico Social (Ökumenisch-soziales Forum).
Kardinal Ravasi beim Pachamama-Kult
Prominentester Anwesender des “Mutter-Erde”-Kultes war Kardinal Ravasi, “der Kultivierte” (ORF) unter den Kurienkardinälen. Der Kardinal war nicht nur Beobachter, sondern aktiver Teilnehmer (siehe Video). Mit ihm war Theresa Varela, die Vizepräsidentin des Foro Ecumenico Social und Vorsitzende der Stiftung Mision Esperanzanach San Marcos Sierras gekommen “sowie indigene Bevölkerung”.
Laut inoffiziellen argentinischen Angaben, soll der Ort inzwischen auf 3.000 Einwohner angewachsen sein, da es einen starken Zuzug von Argentiniern aus den größten Städten Argentiniens, von Europäern und weißen US-Bürgern “der Mittel- und Oberschicht” gibt. San Marcos Sierras ist touristisch erschlossen und gilt als Reiseziel der Hippie-Bewegung. Ein Zusammenhang zum Pachamama-Kult wird angenommen.

“Pachamama” is the animist/pagan “goddess” of the earth for a number of Andean tribes. It remained mostly dormant or mythical for centuries with the successful evangelization of the Altiplano and the Andes by Spanish and native missionaries, but the efforts of different groups in the past few decades (including radical liberal “Catholic” religious) have strongly revived this pagan worship.
In a trip to the pope’s native land of Argentina for the “Ecumenical Social Forum” in November 2014, (in San Marcos Sierras, Province of Córdoba, western Argentina), Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture and who was created a cardinal by Benedict XVI, spent a few minutes worshiping and presenting his homage to the goddess Pachamama, as the video below recorded. The video was released only very recently:

The head of the Vatican’s so-called “Pontifical Council for Culture”, “Cardinal” Gianfranco Ravasi, has been spotted worshipping an Andean pagan deity known as Pachamama, a “Mother Earth” goddess. The video below shows Ravasi taking part in the idolatrous rite together with Quechuan natives in Argentina. An apparent Novus Ordo nun is also participating.
As far as culture goes, this is the same “Cardinal” Ravasi who sent a series of tweets in late October 2013 to honor the passing of Lou Reed, a scandalous and lewd American rock singer whose 1972 hit Walk on the Wild Side contained lyrics that included “taboo topics such as transsexuality, drugs, male prostitution and oral sex” (source). Clearly, Ravasi is a perfect candidate for the Vatican under Francis.
Now, as though meaning to echo (or rather, anticipate) the release of Francis’ eco-encyclical Laudato Si, a video has now appeared that shows the bogus “Catholic cardinal” participating in a pagan rite of adoration of the mother earth goddess Pachamama. This took place in November of 2014.
The following is our translation of an article on this incident written by Vatican journalist Giuseppe Nardi, originally published on July 20, 2015 at Katholisches.info. Nardi is a conservative/traditionalist Novus Ordo adherent and an extremely reliable source for news inside and outside the Vatican.
The Pachamama deity
Cardinal Ravasi participates in Idolatry — “Mother Earth” Cult
(Buenos Aires) Curial cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, actively took part in a ceremony of Pachamama worship in Argentina’s San Marcos Sierras. In the Quechuan language, the goddess Pachamama basically means “Mother Earth” or “Mother Cosmos”. It is a relic of pre-Christian, pagan times, which has survived in sections of the Quechua and Aymara Indians of the Andean countries.
The Pachamama goddess, which the Indians believe to be “omnipotent”, is worshipped with sacrifices, especially “coca leaves”, “lucky charms, medicinal herbs, llama fetuses”, [and] “little dolls”, as the Neue Zürcher Zeitung wrote. “At the occult market of La Paz” in Bolivia, “the ingredients for the burnt sacrifice in honor of Pachamama” are mixed together and “faith becomes business”, according to the NZZ.
The animist cult is also practiced in a village of the Central-Argentine province of Cordoba. This is where San Marcos Sierras is located, with its almost 950 inhabitants (2010), approximately 150 km [~93 mi] away from the city of Cordoba, to which Pope Francis had been exiled by the superior of his province in the 1980s. San Marcos Sierras is considered to be the last village to be mostly inhabited by the Indian people of the Comechingones (Henia and Kamiare), which consists of only 5,000 members at this point.
“Courtyard of the Gentiles” with an Idolatrous Cult
The act of adoring Pachamama took place back in November 2014 as part of Ravasi’s “Courtyard of the Gentiles” initiative, which made a stop in Argentina at the time, but did not become known until now through the publication of a video clip. The idolatry was organized by Foro Ecumenico Social (ecumenical-social forum). The most prominent person present at the Mother Earth worship was Cardinal Ravasi, “the cultured one” (ORF) among the Curia’s cardinals. The cardinal was not merely a spectator but an active participant (see video). He had been accompanied to San Marcos Sierras by Theresa Varela, vice-president of the Foro Ecumenico Social and president of the Mision Esperanza foundation, “as well as some of the indigenous population.”
According to inofficial data by the Argentinian authorities, the village’s population has reportedly increased to 3,000 residents since, as there has been a strong influx of Argentines from the country’s biggest cities, of Europeans and white U.S. citizens “of the middle and upper class.” San Marcos Sierras welcomes tourists and is considered a popular destination for members of the hippie movement. A connection to the cult of Pachamama may be presumed.
